TW ICE: The Citybilly Story You Need to Hear
At 23 years old, Michigan artist TW ICE is proving that hip-hop can be more than beats and bars — it can be a lifestyle shaped by heritage, hustle, and family. A proud member of the Muddy Water Gang, TW ICE has carved out a lane he calls “Citybilly” — a fresh fusion of country soul and city grit. With his father Mark Gorzen and younger brother Cam Pain by his side, TW ICE is building a movement rooted in authenticity, resilience, and family tradition.
Freestyling to Finding His Path
Like many young artists, TW ICE’s first step into music started with freestyling among friends. But his story took a turn when those casual sessions became something more.
“I started freestyling with my friends like most people,” he recalls. “A lot of ‘em said that I was really good and should start taking it seriously.”
That encouragement sparked his journey — and laid the groundwork for a career that now spans states, stages, and a loyal fan base.
Influences in Blood and Beyond
For TW ICE, music wasn’t just something he found — it was something he was born into.
“I grew up around a lot of music. My grandfather and pops have been in groups and bands as I was a kid. I listened to different genres all the time,” he says.
That constant exposure gave him a wide palette of sounds to pull from, blending influences across rock, country, and rap into the unique “Citybilly” identity he embraces today.
A Sound Called Citybilly
When asked to describe his sound, TW ICE doesn’t hesitate: “Citybilly. A lil mix of country and city.”
It’s more than a label — it’s a reflection of who he is. With storytelling rooted in country authenticity and delivery sharpened by urban flow, TW ICE bridges two worlds in a way few artists can.
Overcoming Doubt, Finding Confidence
Like any young artist, TW ICE faced early doubts.
“I used to think that my music would never go anywhere,” he admits. But determination changed everything. “I figured out the algorithm and how to stand out and it was homebase from there.”
By mastering both his sound and the digital landscape, he’s been able to push through challenges and build momentum.
Music That Moves People
For TW ICE, music is more than entertainment — it’s about moving emotions.
“I’ll throw you on a loophole of emotion. Sometimes you might be really hype or you might feel pain,” he says.
This emotional balance makes his catalog versatile, appealing to listeners whether they need energy, motivation, or relatability.
The Creative Process: Life in the Music
His creative process reflects that same authenticity.
“Just experience with life, sometimes off-the-wall freestyle,” he explains. For TW ICE, songs aren’t manufactured — they’re born from lived experiences and raw expression.
Pride in Family and Legacy
Ask TW ICE about his proudest moments, and his answer doesn’t focus on numbers or fame. Instead, it’s about family.
“Doing this with my Pops and my little brother,” he says with pride. “Overcoming obstacles and meeting a lot of family and friends that I would’ve never even knew if I didn’t choose this career.”
That family-first mentality fuels not only his music but the entire Muddy Water Gang’s foundation.
Standing Out in a Crowded Scene
In today’s rap landscape, standing out isn’t easy. But TW ICE knows the formula.
“From the way you sound to delivery and also your look,” he says. It’s about authentic individuality — bringing something fresh to the table while staying true to himself.
Lessons From the Grind
If there’s one thing TW ICE wishes people understood about his journey, it’s the grind behind the art.
“Even if you get kicked down, you still have to get up and keep pushing,” he explains. “It doesn’t matter whether you’re a mailman or dumpster driver. You still have to wake up every day and apply yourself — cause if you don’t show up the check don’t come.”
It’s a hard-earned philosophy that applies far beyond music.
What’s Next for TW ICE
Looking forward, TW ICE is hungry for growth — and not just locally.
“We have many collaborations coming up with multiple artists and can’t wait to experience different countries,” he shares.
At just 23, his vision is already global.
