At just 21 years old, Meirdy, an artist from Wilmington, Delaware, is making his mark with music that isn’t afraid to look inward. For him, the journey began with one simple question: “How far can I take it?” That curiosity sparked a creative drive that has led him to explore his voice, test his limits, and pursue a career in music with relentless dedication.
Early Inspirations
Growing up, Meirdy found himself influenced by some of music’s most versatile names. “Usher, T-Pain, Meek Mill, XXXTentacion, Pharrell, Ye,” he says, listing off icons who shaped his sound and vision. From Usher’s smooth R&B stylings to Pharrell’s boundary-pushing creativity and Ye’s genre-defying artistry, Meirdy drew lessons in vulnerability, versatility, and ambition. Outside of music, his biggest motivation has always been his family—the belief that he could be the one to change their lives for the better.
Finding His Sound
If Meirdy had to describe his sound in one word, it would be introspective. His songs dig deep, often exploring pain, resilience, and the strength to push forward. “Being vulnerable is ok, pain is ok,” he explains. “Just don’t succumb to it, control it and don’t let it control you.” His music isn’t just about rhythm or melody—it’s about speaking truth to the emotions people often hide.
The Creative Process
For Meirdy, inspiration usually begins with a beat. “I really just start with a beat that I really like, then go in my room and record,” he says. From there, he experiments with melodies until something sticks, then layers lyrics to bring the track to life. This organic process has led to some of his most powerful songs, including his latest release, “No Time.”
Challenges and Resilience
Starting out hasn’t been without its struggles. The biggest challenge for Meirdy has been believing in himself enough to carry the weight of his family’s future. “Believing that I can be the one in the family to better all of our lives,” he admits. But instead of letting doubt hold him back, he doubled down on work ethic. “I’ve pushed through by continuously putting the work in.”

For all the shows and songs, one of Meirdy’s proudest moments was sharing his work with the person who means the most: his mom. “Showing my mom a song that I made,” he recalls, was a moment of validation and connection that solidified his purpose as an artist.
Standing Out From the Crowd
In today’s rap scene, standing out is no easy feat, but Meirdy has no intention of blending in. “They can keep the rap, that’s why I sing too,” he says. His ability to move fluidly between rap and singing allows him to cross genres and tap into different audiences. “When you’re an asset all around, it allows you to have a presence in more rooms.”
Lessons Learned
As his journey unfolds, one thing Meirdy wishes people understood is the importance of patience and individuality. “It takes time,” he says. “When you do it alone, you’ll be faced with comparison, but your story is meant to be different from everyone else.” That mindset keeps him grounded as he pushes forward.

With a show scheduled for October 17th in Delaware, a recent collaboration with @imkevon, and the release of “No Time”—a song fans have been anticipating—his momentum is only building. The young artist from Wilmington is carving his lane, fueled by curiosity, vulnerability, and a fearless drive to take things as far as possible.
