The duo, made up of Brady “Burk” Burk (29) and Josh “Herz” Herzog (31), come from completely different parts of the country—small-town Ohio and the sun-soaked streets of Daytona Beach, Florida. But their paths converged in the Midwest, where they discovered the perfect balance between Burk’s grit and Herz’s southern-infused flash. Together, they’re building something that feels both familiar and entirely new.
Roots, Influences & The Spark That Lit the Fuse
Burk’s relationship with hip-hop started early—Eminem’s The Eminem Show blasting through a cassette player, becoming “a lifeline” long before he ever touched a mic. His influences paint a picture of someone who grew up studying legends: 50 Cent, Tupac, Biggie, Ice Cube, Three 6 Mafia, Snoop Dogg, Jelly Roll, Project Pat, and more. That melting pot shows in his tone and delivery: deep, heavy, unfiltered.
Herz’s introduction came riding shotgun with his older brother, Bone Thugs, ICP, Kottonmouth Kings, and later Lil Wayne, shaping his ear for lyricism and clever wordplay. Poetry was his first creative language—rap became the natural evolution.
Both artists dabbled on their own, but it wasn’t until reconnecting in 2023 that things finally clicked.
“It was either we do this for real, or we don’t,” Burk said. “It’s now or never.”
Herz echoed that turning point:
“We decided we could do this as one, and now here we are.”

The chemistry between them is undeniable. Their individual styles blend in a way that fans have already labeled unique:

“We don’t sound like anyone else,” Burk said. “We’re versatile. We talk about life, deep shit, fun shit—whatever we’re feeling.”
Herz describes their sound as a mix people don’t expect but instantly get hooked on. The high energy, heavy bass, and dual dynamic give them an unmistakable identity.
The Grind Behind the Glory
Like any new artist, Burk N’ Herz had their hurdles.
For Burk, the toughest part is time. With kids and a full schedule, pursuing music requires sacrifice. But the support around them makes the hustle worth it.
For Herz, the enemy was internal.
“Self-doubt,” he admitted. “I’ve always been my biggest critic.”
But with family behind him—and Burk pushing him forward—they kept going. That bond created what they call their “cheese and wine,” their Yin and Yang.
“We may not be related,” Burk said, “but we really are brothers.”

For Burk, the wildest feeling so far has been seeing strangers wearing Burk N’ Herz merch in public.
“It’s overwhelming in a good way,” he said.
For Herz, nothing topped watching Burk hit the stage for the first time.
“He absolutely DESTROYED it,” Herz laughed. “It was like a proud dad moment.”
The respect they have for each other radiates through every part of their journey.
The Creative Process: Mood-Driven and Music-Led
Their approach is authentic and intuitive. No forced lyrics. No rushing.
Burk writes by feel—”if it’s not hitting in the moment, he walks away and comes back when it’s right”. Sometimes verses pour out in 30 minutes.
Herz is similar:
“If it sounds catchy, we’ll work on it for weeks. Other times, we can knock out verses and a hook in a few hours.”
One thing is certain: they let the music lead the message.

With only two songs released so far, the mission is simple:
Impact. Energy. Replay value.
They want listeners to vibe, relate, and get caught off guard in the best way.
As Burk said, “Music tells a story more than the lyrics. We just follow what the music is saying.”

“We just want to be taken seriously,” Burk said. “If we’re gonna do this, we’re doing it right.”
